HSA

 

The Home and School Association (HSA) is a partnership between parents and professionals in the formation of values for the children consistent with and reflective of Christian principles, and helps further the work of the school. The Home and School Association strives to maintain and improve understanding between parents, faculty, and administration of OLPH School, and contributes to the financial support of the school. The fee collected from each family helps to eliminate extra collections for special events and assists with the purchase of recess equipment and games.


The Home and School Association acts as the central organizing group for parent volunteer activities.  Parents are recruited through the Home and School Association’s volunteer sign-up at the beginning of the school year.  Each homeroom has Room Parents to help coordinate activities, which the class plans over the school year.  Parent volunteers assist teachers during school hours or work at home.

 

Events HSA either pays for or contributes to include the following:

  • 2 or 3 cultural arts events

  • Special Science programs for all grades

  • Back to School Picnic

  • Back to School Bingo

  • May Fair

  • Family Movie Night

  • Skate Night

  • Mardi Gras/Shrove Tuesday

  • Catholic Schools Week

  • Teacher Appreciation Week

  • Start of the Year Teacher Endowment

  • Wine and Cheese Party

  • Recess Equipment

  • Lunch Tables
Public Meetings Planned for 2012-2013

The Home and School Association Executive Board meets on a monthly basis.  Two general meetings will be held during this school year.  At least one adult from each family is expected to attend these meetings.
