Drama is Alive at OLPH School!
Since 2006, OLPH School P.E. instructor, Mrs. Martina Kerns, has overseen a Drama Club that helps children realize their performing arts potential.
Mrs. Kerns has performed in several Off- Broadway Productions including the George Wolfe comedy, “The Colored Museum.” She has also participated in various tributes and performances in honor of the Historical Royal Theater of Baltimore and has received various Outstanding Thespian Awards.
Students from 3rd - 8th grades are welcome to participate. The Drama Club hosts bi-weekly workshops in November, as well as both a winter and late spring production. Students audition for roles in both productions and those who receive parts must participate in weekly Drama Club rehearsals. Student's not interested in the performing aspect of the Drama Club are encouraged to participate in stage crew, light and sound crew, along with set and prop creation.
OLPH School is blessed to be the home of such an active and talented Drama Club where the emphasis is on discovering the JOY (Jesus, Others,Yourself) of performing!
