OLPH School Welcomed Archbishop Lori and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Barbara Edmondson

It’s hard to imagine a better way to start the school year than with a blessing by the spiritual leader of our Archdiocese, and the encouragement of our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Edmondson. She reminded the students how fortunate they are to attend such a wonderful school.

Archbishop Lori challenged the students to make this the very best school year ever. He spoke about the importance of loving one another and being ever mindful of God’s love for us. This tied in perfectly with OLPH School’s spiritual theme for this year.

Mr. Pellechia introduced the theme from the Gospel of Matthew, “You shall love the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment.” Archbishop Lori closed with remarks about his own vocational discernment then led us in prayer with a Hail Mary and offered his blessing for a fruitful and productive school year.
