Since 1982, the National Blue Ribbon School Program has celebrated exceptional American public and private schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Earning the prestigious Blue Ribbon School designation is a hallmark of excellence, and the flag waving overhead serves as a proud symbol of quality, respected by parents, educators, and policymakers alike.
OLPH Catholic School was first awarded this honor in 2016 and has continued to uphold its high standards. Most recently, it received the distinction again in 2024, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence and student achievement.
The program honors schools that excel in one of two key areas:
- Exemplary High Performing Schools: Schools where students consistently achieve at exceptionally high levels.
- Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing Schools: Schools that demonstrate significant progress in closing achievement gaps among diverse student groups.
Upholding Academic Excellence
OLPH is proud to be recognized as an Exemplary High Performing School under the prestigious Blue Ribbon program. This national honor distinguishes schools with student achievement in the top 15 percent nationally in reading (English language arts) and mathematics, as measured by nationally normed assessments, or within the top 15 percent on state assessments. For non-public schools like OLPH, this award highlights our commitment to reaching the top 15 percent in both categories, showcasing the dedication of our students, educators, and community to maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence.
